Frequently Asked Questions
The answer depends who you are and what you're doing. Here's some guidance:
Healthy diets and intermittent fasting: Most people prefer hydrating in the morning, soon after waking. Sip slowly over your day. 1 - 2 sachets per day depending on how you feel and how much physical activity you're doing.
Strict water-only fasting: REVIVE Raw can be consumed during your fast but flavoured REVIVE should be consumed before or after a strict fast, not during. 1 - 2 sachets per day.
Religious fasting: it's important to hydrate before a fast and continue hydrating after. Consume during the fast only if permitted. 1 - 2 sachets per day.
Exercise performance: You can start REVIVE before a workout but most people prefer drinking during or after. For endurance events, REVIVE MUST be consumed during, to maintain hydration and prevent muscle cramps. 1 sachet per 2 hours of sweating and 1 sachet for recovery.
Gym workouts involving strength training and HIIT less than 2 hours: drink during if you feel comfortable. Some people prefer plain water during intense workouts, in which case use REVIVE afterwards to replenish hydration and aid recovery.
Sickness involving diarrhoea or vomiting, sip slowly over the course of illness.
Breastfeeding: 1 - 2 sachets per day.
Sauna: 1 sachet per half hour.

Do not exceed 3 sachets per day except for long endurance events such is iron-man and ultra-distance running.
It varies by individual and by what you're doing. It's essential to understand that REVIVE is designed to enhance your daily electrolyte intake, not to replace it.
Our sodium and magnesium levels are set at 20% of daily requirements for healthy people and our potassium is set at 4.25%.
There are 3 good reasons potassium is lower: 1 - we lose much less through sweat and other activities, 2 - it's easier to get from food and 3 - potassium in liquid form should be kept lower as it can affect heart rhythm and cause palpitations.
For most people, 1 sachet of REVIVE daily is ideal unless you're very active. Please see our detailed guideline in the FAQ: When and how much REVIVE should I drink?
Do not exceed 3 sachets per day except for long endurance events such is iron-man and ultra-distance running.
Not at all. REVIVE is designed for health conscious people of all types, but especially those eating a clean, healthy, real-food diet that is lower in processed food, sugar and refined carbohydrates. It doesn't need a label.
Here are some other great reasons to take REVIVE:
- Intermittent Fasting
- Multi-day Fasting
- Religious Fasting
- Exercise Performance
- Sickness (including diarrhea and vomiting)
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Active Kids
- Long flights
- Big Nights (we aren't encouraging alcohol and other "nightlife consumption", but if you indulge, REVIVE is here to help.
- Cancer treatment, especially those following no sugar protocols
- Therapeutic ketogenic diet
- Sauna
- Altitude climbing
The “rules” for fasting are nuanced and not everyone agrees. There are also different fasting protocols and definitions - they are, after all, man-made constructs and not scientific principles.
The majority of the fasting community accepts that you should not consume any calories during a fast, nor anything that causes a rise in blood sugar or a response in insulin. These are the 3 key criteria. Our interpretation follows this thinking, making REVIVE suitable for regular intermittent fasting, 16:8, 12:6 etc.
Some people argue that stevia and flavour (used in REVIVE) signal the brain in an undesirable way and aren’t in keeping with the spirit of fasting. We don’t share this view. Most, including medical experts and scientists in the field, accept that black coffee, black tea, green tea, water and clean electrolytes like REVIVE don't break a fast.
Some also endorse bone broth, even though it contains calories because the fat helps contain hunger and doesn't cause a rise in blood sugar or insulin, and the vitamins and minerals help with fasting.
Water-only fasting and fasting for autophagy are stricter protocols. For these methods, we suggest flavoured REVIVE before or after, but not during, a fast.
REVIVE RAW is appropriate for all types of fasting, even water-only fasting.
Hydration is important during pregnancy due to the extra fluid and nutrient transport requirements of pregnant women, not to mention morning sickness.
REVIVE is safe for normal, healthy pregnancies, especially if you’re physically active, but even if you're not.
Our product is well-suited to pregnancy because of our functional mineral levels and the absence of sugar and chemicals. Plus, our sodium is natural, unprocessed and unpolluted.
IMPORTANT Note: REVIVE should not be used by anyone with kidney disease, hypertension or taking diuretic medication. Additionally, we advise caution and medical advice if a pregnant mom has oedema (swelling), water retention or preeclampsia.
Here is a really useful
from an excellent US company on hydration during pregnancy.YES, 100%. There are some very good reasons to hydrate with electrolytes during breastfeeding. The fluid replacement requirements for mom are obvious but fatigue and disrupted sleep are other good reasons to hydrate properly. The mineral requirements for your baby are equally important.
There is excellent evidence that sodium enhances breastmilk production. REVIVE's clean, no sugar, no chemicals formulation is ideal for healthy moms and babies.
See our
for a deeper dive on hydration for breastfeeding.REVIVE is safe for children. However, the amount taken should be reduced in proportion to body weight. Here's some practical guidance:
Children under 4 years old: Mix one sachet with 1L of water and split into 4 x 250ml portions. Use 250ml per day.
Children between 4 - 10 years old: Mix one sachet with 1L of water and split into 2 x 500ml portions. Use 500ml per day.
For diarrhea, vomiting or vigorous activity involving sweating, the above amounts can be doubled and should be sipped slowly.
On our packaging, we have a warning saying REVIVE is not appropriate for people with hypertension. Regulations require that we do so. However, this space allows us to give a more comprehensive and considered response to a topic that cannot be dealt with in a sentence.
Stage 1 hypertension is blood pressure more than 130/80 mm Hg. Some people have elevated blood pressure (higher than normal) that is not yet in the category of hypertension. This FAQ applies to both elevated blood pressure and hypertension. The higher your blood pressure, the more conservative you should be, as a matter of common sense.
Most (but not all) of the medical establishment holds the view that sodium increases blood pressure and low salt diets have been a cornerstone of conventional medical advice for decades. REVIVE has a relatively high level of sodium. So, the idea that someone would take REVIVE with higher blood pressure, is anathema to most in the healthcare profession.
Yet, like many other things long regarded as bad for you - for example saturated fat, eggs and butter - the world is changing. New, contrary evidence is emerging, leading voices in the scientific community are speaking out with a different message and many members of the public are taking their health into their own hands and getting great results with a contrarian approach.
It turns out that conventional guidelines have often been wrong, and have sometimes been harmful. We think that salt falls into this category. The simple idea that "salt is bad" is not universally correct and is definitely more nuanced than originally thought.
Many respected, thoughtful doctors and scientists are now advising that salt is not bad, and, in fact, that low salt is harmful and can raise blood pressure. This makes things thoroughly confusing.
We are not here to give medical advice. We are not allowed to do so, and nothing in this FAQ should be construed as such, but here is our interpretation, made as simple as we can. It is taken from sources like Dr Richard Johnson (Nature Wants Us To Be Fat), one of the world's blood pressure experts, and many others:
1. 75% of people are NOT salt sensitive, meaning that higher sodium does not increase their blood pressure.
2. Sodium taken as part of hydration, in other words, with the right amount of water is more benign (and therefore safer) than sodium taken with food. This fact isn't widely known or understood.
3. During exercise, you lose sodium and other minerals (like potassium and magnesium) that need to be replaced, along with water. This is true, irrespective of your blood pressure.
4. People eating a low carb diet, practicing intermittent fasting and exercising regularly need more electrolytes, particularly sodium. This also includes people with higher blood pressure.
So, here are some tips for using REVIVE safely and cautiously if you choose to do so with higher blood pressure:
1. Use REVIVE when exercising, not as an everyday drink, until you are sure there is no adverse effect on your blood pressure.
2. Dilute REVIVE in more water - we suggest one sachet per 1L, instead of 750ml.
3. Split 1 REVIVE sachet into 2 x 500ml portions - drink only 1 portion per day.
4. Sip slowly.
5. Monitor your blood pressure on days you take REVIVE and on days you don't, so you can compare.
6. Monitor how you feel.
7. Regulate your overall sodium intake, in other words your entire dietary intake of salt. On days you take REVIVE, you may wish to be more cautious with your other salt intake.
As a last point, there is evidence pointing to 5g of sodium per day (which is 13.8g of salt) as being the optimum level, even for people with known cardiovascular risk (which includes people with higher blood pressure). Most people aren't getting near this level, even with REVIVE, which has 1g of sodium per sachet.
We hope this answer provides some context for you to make your own judgment and to use REVIVE safely if you choose to do so.
REVIVE SHOULD NOT be used if you have hypertension, kidney disease or take diuretic medication. We say this on our packaging. Nonetheless, the real world is more complex and nuanced than a simple sentence on the back of a box. So here is a little more guidance.
Anyone who feels bloated, uncomfortable or retains water after drinking REVIVE should discontinue use.
Some people have ragweed allergies and are sensitive to Stevia. Coughing, sneezing, itchy throat, runny nose, watering eyes, skin rashes or hives are possible. If this affects you, don't use flavoured REVIVE but REVIVE RAW would be fine.
Please see specific guidance for children and pregnant women.
All content and references on this website are strictly for informational purposes and should not be construed as medical, nutritional or health advice. This is particularly important if you take medication or have a chronic health condition.
The short answer is no, REVIVE won't prevent or cure a hangover. Hangovers are complicated physiologically. And despite products that make such claims, nothing else will either.
However, dehydration is a significant part of what makes you feel cr*p and alcohol is accompanied by specific fluid, sodium and magnesium loss. REVIVE will make a big difference to how you feel, and how you perform the next day. Many customers attest to it firsthand.
We suggest taking 1 sachet in 750ml water before going to bed. Repeat that when you wake up, if you're not feeling your best. But, ideally speaking, you want to sip REVIVE while you're drinking. The earlier you start hydration, the better.
Dr Andrew Huberman's recommendation is two glasses of water with electrolytes per alcoholic drink, so let's call it 1 sachet of REVIVE with 750ml - 1L of water for every 4 drinks. Your body will thank you.
Take a look at our
or see our Instagram for information on this topic.Yes, our formula is vegan friendly. REVIVE contains no ingredients of an animal nature. Most of our formulation contains minerals which are neither plants nor animals - minerals exist naturally in the earth and are "harvested" and processed for consumption. Our flavours and stevia are plant-based.
REVIVE RAW is our unsweetened, flavourless electrolyte, stripped down to the absolute basics. It has exactly the same quantity and ratio of sodium, potassium and magnesium as our flavoured product, but it doesn't have any stevia, flavour, citric acid, sodium citrate or calcium carbonate.
REVIVE RAW doesn't dissolve quite as well, so give it an extra shake or stir if you're using plain water. It doesn't hurt to shake or swirl your bottle as you drink, just to ensure you get all the electrolytes.
RAW doesn't taste the best - it isn't designed to. But it's not bad either. So buy it for the function, not the taste. And feel free to add it to coffee, bone broth, smoothies pre-workouts or flavoured energy supplements. Or just drink it with plain water. Try adding some fresh lemon juice or apple cider vinegar as other options.
REVIVE Daily Electrolytes have been certified Halaal since August 2023 and our new packaging has a Halaal symbol on the back.
REVIVE is perfect. We have many T1d customers using it, including some accomplished athletes. REVIVE is non-glycemic and won't change insulin requirements - it's as if you drank water (from a glucose / insulin perspective) but REVIVE gives you the electrolytes and hydration that is needed.
REVIVE is also gut friendly as it doesn't have chemicals and artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols that many people can't tolerate.
REVIVE also tastes good - it's not like a medicine and it replaces sugary drinks nicely for kids. Speaking of kids, if your child is T1d, please also read the FAQ on the suitability for children.
